Mental Capacity Assessment

A Mental Capacity Assessment helps determine whether a person is able to make certain decisions for themselves, such as decisions about healthcare, daily living, or financial matters.

Families commonly approach us for assessments related to HDB matters, including adding or changing property co-ownership. Our clinic has extensive experience conducting these assessments and has supported many families through similar requests.

Assessments are available at our clinic, via home visit, or at nursing homes for greater convenience.

Mental Capacity Assessment for HDB Ownership Matters

We provide mental capacity assessments and medical reports for HDB ownership-related matters, including the addition of a family member as a co-owner or other changes in property ownership. Where required by HDB or your lawyer, a formal medical report on mental capacity can be provided following the assessment.

Please bring along any relevant HDB correspondence, lawyer’s instructions and supporting medical records to your appointment.

Mental Capacity Assessment for Making a Will

We provide mental capacity assessments for individuals who are making or updating a Will, including where a formal assessment or medical report has been requested by a lawyer.

A medical report on testamentary capacity can be provided following the assessment where appropriate.

Please bring along any instructions or documents from your lawyer and relevant medical records to your appointment.
