Dr. Muhammad Zahran Bin Tohid
Family Physician
Primary Place of Practice: Tampines
Dr Zahran is a family physician with a strong interest in chronic disease management, elderly care, preventive health and exercise medicine. He believes that good primary care goes beyond treating illness — it is about building long-term relationships with patients and helping them remain healthy, independent and functional throughout different stages of life.
Dr Zahran holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Doctor of Medicine (BMed, MD) and subsequently obtained the Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine (GDFM) as part of his commitment to lifelong learning and providing comprehensive, evidence-based primary care.
He has experience across a broad range of clinical settings, including family medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, cardiology, community care, home-based medical care and nursing home care. His experience caring for patients across both clinic and community settings has shaped his approach towards providing practical, personalised and continuous care.
His current clinical interests include chronic disease management, elderly care, preventive health, exercise and weight management. He has a particular interest in helping patients manage long-term conditions while maintaining their independence, physical function and quality of life. He also believes strongly in involving patients and their families in healthcare decisions and coordinating care when multiple medical needs are involved.
Dr Zahran has a keen interest in the role of exercise and physical activity in preventing and managing chronic disease. He has pursued further training in fitness and exercise, complementing his medical practice and interest in helping patients become more active in a safe and sustainable manner.
Outside of medicine, Dr Zahran enjoys spending time with his family and staying active, particularly through swimming and cycling.
Above all, he believes that good family medicine is built on long-term relationships, continuity of care and understanding each patient as an individual, rather than simply treating individual illnesses as they arise.
